After sold out shows pre-Covid, it's an absolute honour to welcome back Koos Kombuis! One of the country’s most remarkable and influential artists is back on our stage on Saturday, 03 September!He is a well-known writer, poet, singer and unforgettable storyteller. He started his career in the 1980s with the notorious Voëlvry protest tour around South Africa accompanied by with singers such as Johannes Kerkorrel and Bernoldus Niemand. Since then he has crept into the hearts of South Africans and still entertain audiences from Oppikoppi to intimate theatres around the country.
Koos Kombuis cites that singers such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young and John Lennon influenced his raw music style.Some of his most popular songs include: Lisa se Klavier, Johnny is nie Dood nie, Lalie and Almal wil ‘n Huisie by die See hê.With ten albums under his belt, his performances are not to be missed!
Na 'n uitverkoopte vertoning in April is dit 'n eer om Koos Kombuis weer terug te verwelkom by Theatre in the Park! Een van die land se merkwaardigste en invloedrykste kunstenaars is terug op ons verhoog op Saterdag, 23 November.Hy is ‘n bekende skrywer, digter, sanger en uitmuntende storieverteller. Koos het sy loopbaan in die 1980s begin met die berugte Voëlvry protes-toer rondom Suid-Afrika saam met sangers soos Johannes Kerkorrel en Bernoldus Niemand. Sedertien het hy in Suid-Afrikaners se harte ingekruip en vermaak gehore nogsteeds van Oppikoppi tot intieme teaters.
