An evening charged with emotion, rhythm and unforgettable music awaits you as these two forces
unite on stage.

“Ek’s ’n donker man, onder die middernagmaan” (“I’m a dark man, under the midnight moon”) –
these are the words of Bacchus Nel in his enchanting song, Waar Die Dice Val – a fitting description
of this enigmatic poet and singer-songwriter, of someone with depth of character. Nel’s music is a
journey of vivid stories; brimming with empathy, compassion, depth and a sharp sense of humour.
With four albums under his belt (In Die Arms van die nag, Tussen Junk en Jewelry, Tweester Hotel en
Ou Blou Skoene, including his new EP, Vaalrivier), Bacchus Nel is currently one of South Africa’s
leading singer-songwriters. He shares his musical narrations throughout South Africa by performing
in small towns; but also at larger festivals like Aardklop, KKNK and STRAB.

The other member of the collaborative duo is Georgetown, a multi-talented folk-band from Pretoria,
formed in February 2014 by the talented members – Michael de Villiers, Renaldo van Dyk, Rynier
Prins, and Tiaan Erasmus. ’n Spellbinding mix of Americana and local influences find expression in
three richly harmonised voices; being accompanied by acoustic guitar, piano-accordion, piano,
double bass, mandolin, harmonica and an old-fashioned suitcase drum. In this way Georgetown
established itself as one of SA’s most beloved folk-bands, who share their stories and rhythms on
diverse stages with the public.
